It’s almost that time of the year again; the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is right around the corner. I’m sure you have heard about the #NSale, but I’m here to help! This post is your resource for shopping this sale and spilling the tea on how it is structured. Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram the days leading up to the sale and throughout the actual sale because I will be covering SO many good finds! If you haven’t already, I highly recommend turning on your post notifications for my feed and especially stories. On top of my blog and Instagram, I will be posting collages and outfit ideas in the free liketoknow.it app. The #NSale is my favorite sale of the year, and I can’t wait to take you along this journey and get our closets ready for Fall!

What is the #NSale?
To put it in simple terms, its the most significant sale that Nordstrom puts on that discounts current fall items. Hold the phone, you heard me- Brand spanking new 2020 pieces at a fraction of the price. The Nordstrom Anniversary sale has something for everyone, including notable categories like clothing, accessories, beauty, home decor, and so much more. This is an ideal time to stock up on all your needs for the upcoming cozy season and kickstart your holiday shopping. At the same time, there are tons of fabulous finds, its essential to remember that as quickly as items are placed on the shelf, they are sold out in a blink of an eye. This is the time to prep and get ready, so you don’t miss out on some great products I have in the previous years.
Lauren’s Tidbit: While this sale seems like it lasts forever, once its over, it’s over. On September 1- the sale will come to a close; all of the leftover merchandise will skyrocket back up to the full price, or even worse, there won’t be any restocks. Trust me when I say that this sale is extreme chaos, and the best stuff sells out within the first couple of days. Fun fact: I used to work at Nordstrom in the BP section, so I’ve learned the ins and outs of this sale so you can trust me when I say you have to act fast.
Tips and tricks to get the most out of this sale:
Tip 1: Mark your calendar
The Nordstrom Anniversary sale is unlike most sales because it has a few different access days. Here are the main critical dates for the sale.

July 24 – A preview of the sale items will be launched on Nordstrom’s site.
August 4-18 – Early Access for Icon status Norstrom Cardholders.
August 10-18 – Early Access for Ambassador status Norstrom Cardholders.
August 10-18 – Early Access for Influencer status Norstrom Cardholders.
August 13-18 – Insider Early Access- This is the time to shop if you have a Nordstrom Card. This is the most popular level to shop, and many items sell out during this time frame. Not every product will have a relaunch unless there is a return in the system, but from previous experience, if you see something you like, act fast. If you don’t have a Nordstrom Card but want to look more into it, check it out here.
August 19-30 – Nordstrom Sale opens to the public! Prices will go back up to full price on September 1.
Tip 2: Create an account
If getting a card isn’t right for you, make sure to sign up for the Nordstrom Rewards. If you sign up now, you will get a $60 Nordstrom Note (gift card) to shop for the Anniversary sale. With this account, you get points every time you spend a dollar and trust me those add up fast especially during the #NSale
Tip 3: Closet inventory check
I’m a firm believer that you shouldn’t just buy something simply because it’s on sale. To make sure that you aren’t buying things to buy it, go through your closet and make a list of items you need for the upcoming season. By making a list, you can focus on finding pieces that you will be wearing have a starting point during the sale since it can get overwhelming.
Tip 4: Preview the sale
The preview is up now on the Nordstrom site, so definitely take a little sneak peek to start planning.
Lauren’s Tidbit: if you see an item you love and don’t want to forget about, click “+ to wishlist,” There will be an option to create your own list name. I have a #NSale list growing day by day and is going to be a lifesaver when I hop online to shop.
Tip 5: Buy now, Return later
If you are caught in the middle of whether you need to have an item, add it to your cart and check out. DO NOT leave your cart full with goodies and walk away, many shoppers will have the same products in their cart, and I would hate to see something you want to be sold out. I always say buy them and return later if you aren’t the biggest fan because Nordstrom has the best return policy.
Lauren’s Tidbit: If an item does not have your size in stock, buy another size, and hold on to it. Nordstrom will most likely restock items, and you will be able to go and exchange it for the size you usually wear.
Tip 6: Shop right here!
I have been planning for weeks pulling together shopping guides to guide you on what you should be keeping your eyes on. I will be putting all the work in to sit back and enjoy this yearly shopping experience. I will be completely transparent with sharing what items I’m buying and loving at the moment… no B.S. allowed on this page.
Lauren’s Tidbit: The most important advice I can give you when shopping for this sale is to make sure your card is already hooked up online so you can check out in two simple clicks. On top of that, I highly recommend checking out after you out two or three items in your cart because things will be selling out so fast.
Get ready, Y’all the sale is about to start!! Let m know in the comments what you’re most excited to shop for.
