Today’s finally the day! After months of just talking about it, I’m excited to be turning these “what if” and “one day” phrases into actions. For anyone who doesn’t know me and just wandered across my blog…no shame, I’m the queen of stumbling upon pages. My name is Lauren Ostendorf and I’m a junior fashion retailing major with minors in public relations and business at The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Don’t worry I’m working on an in depth “about me” post so you can get to know me a little bit better! But without further ado, I want to personally welcome each and every one of you to my blog, The Daily Lo. Let’s do the dang thing!
Let’s be real… Fall in the south is no joke. One day its 90 and sunny then the next it is 50 and pouring rain. With all the ups and downs, I was in desperate need of sweater weather. Thankfully I was able to head home for fall break and get some much needed time away from the humidity.
Whenever I go home during the holidays I always make it a point to stop by Gardner Village. Hands down this is the place you go to when you need to get in the spirit of the season. I’ve been coming to this venue for over 10 years and I swear, it gets cuter each and every time. Major design inspo for when I get my own place to decorate in a couple years. Plus, they have the best hot chocolate and caramel apples all hidden throughout the village of cute cottages, vintage bridges and darling shops. If you ever catch yourself in need of an activity to entertain you for a couple hours in Salt Lake this is the place!
I couldn’t think of a better way to kick it off the blog than with my go to fall uniform: Suede jacket, high rise jeans and heeled booties. If you want to shop my outfits, scroll up to the top and underneath the picture I have all the direct links to my outfit pieces.
If I have to recommend one fall piece to get, it has to be this suede jacket! I have been wearing it on repeat this season. The caramel color is amaaazing, it’s such a great transitional piece for fall and spring that you will get tons of wear out of! I suggest going a size up for that you can layer it with cozy knit sweaters.
You can never have too many plain t-shirts in your closet especially during fall. If you are in need of some basics, head over to Nordstrom. They have the best layering tees in tons of colors and they are all under $20. It truly can’t get better than that!
Recently I was on the search for the perfect pair of high rise jeans that don’t have any rips. And let me tell you, I think we have a winner! Zara’s high rise denim is the best of the best. For under $50, the material feels high end but has a lot of stretch and the color doesn’t fade at all.
A staple item that every girl needs in her closet is a tan suede bootie, they are super easy to dress up or down. Plus, nothing screams fall like a pair of booties does! The Marc Fisher booties I have on are my favorite booties of the season. They are currently all sold out but I have linked a couple other ones that are super similar.
Whenever I go on Instagram, I keep seeing everyone wearing these huge floppy hats and I was not about them at first, but you can’t judge it until you try it. I take all my mean comments back, I’m obsessed. This hat is now my favorite piece in my closet. It helps pull any outfit together and gives it that cozy trendy look!
& thats a wrap on my first post! Can’t wait to share all of my content with you as time goes on. As always, if there is something that you are looking for or need help finding let me know and I would love to help! Subscribe to my email list at the bottom so you never miss out on a post!
